The World Cup Frenzy

These days the World Cup frenzy is gaining momentum due next year. While the 32 countries participating in the mega event are preparing to win back the cup, the onlookers and football enthusiastic are booking flights and tickets to reach South Africa June next year. The event assumes a unique importance as it will be for the first time that an African country has been nominated to host the event. The other contestants were Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

The mascot for the 2010 World Cup is Zakumi, an anthropomorphised leopard. The mascot's colours reflect those of the host nation's playing strip – yellow and green. The Zakumi's official motto is: "Zakumi's game is Fair Play."

Now the big question is who would lift the coveted cup? There are various speculations but Brazil seems to be the most favourites, followed by Argentina, Spain and England. While yet another poll puts Spain in the lead, followed by Argentina, Italy, Netherlands and Germany. This speculative mind boggling would go on but the actual winner will be the one which foots the match winning goals on the final day. So best of luck everyone.
